how Spider make reference to the baseline activities, does it use the activity code ( activity ID) ? or the internal identifier ( i hope it is not the identifier) ?

Spider uses activity amd phase codes (IDs).
You may compare not only with the baseline but with any other version.
Spider Project keeps project archives and you can compare simultaneosly with the baseline and some other version. For example analyze current project status comparing with the status one month ago and with the baseline.
You can also play what if and create any number of project scenarios comparing them with each other.
You can see the difference in the Gantt Chart and show difference in the table columns for any field.
