Update a Schedule A form Schedule B

Dear all

i would like to ask about how to update Schedule (A) from another Schedule(B), note that both Schedules have the same of Activities and Activities ID but i just Change that lags in the relationship as i have created 2 scenarios and i have updated (A) and i would like to apply the same updates to (B).

Export schedule B as a XER. then open schedule A and import B as update of A. next time you can use special tool in P6 - Reflection.

This is such a frequent requirement as some contractors keep different versions with different strategies, same as you. So common that in Spider Project it can be performed at a single click of the mouse by clicking on Import Performance from Other Project.

Just kook for similar functionality within your software.

Anything else than a single click of the mouse for something so frequent I would consider a nuisance.

Note that: import of performance data is executed with the following peculiarities:

  • If source project version (from which performance data is imported) has resource assignments, initially absent in destination project version (to which performance data is imported) – these assignments would be automatically added to destination project version.

  • Performance data cannot be imported for resources, initially absent in destination project version.

  • If source project version has activities, initially absent in destination project version, these activities will be automatically added to newly created phase ‘Unscheduled activities’ (with Code ‘$$$’) in all work breakdown structures of destination project version. Links of these activities will not be imported
