Over past year, I have been involved in a mega rail project. I have been a member of program team and we have tried to settle P6 RL8.2 in a governmental organization. There are lots of requests from my client which I seek answers to them through this discussion topics. I do encourage all of you to share your experience in this forum . Thanks in advance.
1- Archive previous layouts/ Files XER.
A Friend in Primavera Admin field advised me that, this can be done by attaching the layouts to the relevant xer files and after exporting , the stand alone xer file would inherit layouts and relevant filters. I have done this practice and after importing those files, there is no sign of layouts or filters. I would like to have your comments on the best way to archive previous files and relevant filters and layouts out of the server.
2- As far as I have understood, P6 RL8.2 uses primavera on the server rather than stand alone like previous versions. Does anybody know what the best backup plan could be if there is a server shutdown?
