Hi Mohammad

I respond to your question about extracting resources assignments from P6 to excel. There are several ways to do this.

I prefer the following options

Option 1

Go to Assignments, on the left and menu of you screen. Make the appropriate, group & sort  and also a filter to identify the required resources.  Copy and paste this in a spreadsheet.

Option 2

Go to reports under the tab tools.

Select one of the standard reports, "resource loading"

Apply the filters you are requiring for the resources you want.

Run the report. This report is in csv format

Open this report in excel

Transform the csv to a excel file

Tailor the report to suit your needs.

We use this report to make manpower histograms for our portfolio management.

Regard Johannes

Hi Mohamed,

it is a pity that you don't use Spider Project.

In Spider Project these teams are called multiresources and assigning multiresource you assign all multiresource members.

More than that - at any moment you can change resources in the multiresource and all futire assignments will be automatically updated.

Let's wait what practical advise will be given by P6 gurus.

Hi Mohammed,

why don't you simply create 5 teams and use the "Notes" tab in the Resource Details to indicate that Team1 is staffed with mike, robert, samual, alex, dan?

If you really need to individualize resources, give a try to Global Change:

"if resource name is Team1, then resource name is Mike AND Robert AND Samuel..."
