Migrating back from Primavera 8.1 to version 7

We migrated from P6.2 to P8.1 approximately six weeks ago and have found numerous issues dealing with the client, some access related, some slow loading times, issues with the web client not working properly, etc. Second, it is a pain to go to the web client to add to the EPS. Additionally other branch offices have tried going to 8.2 and that version has crashed on various systems.

Our IT person who maintains P6 for us at this location has suggested that we go backwards to version 7. What are the consequences and what issues will we encounter if we perform this task? What happens to our files/schedules that have been developed in P6 v8.1? Has anyone even attempted this?
