I have completed the base program for my new project & I loaded the resourse also...
Just now I got the call from my manager to reduce the duration and make an accelarated program.
I know that by reducing the duration and increase the manpower we can solve the issue ..
But Iam confused in resource loading ..
What I have to do ???
earlier I made a 10 hr work day program without now Iam forced to put night shift also ...
Friends please help me to solve this issue .......
I have to change resourse calendor or ???
Please guide me where I have to make the correct change ?????

Shift work is very common, usually the second shift if a night shift might be less productive, that work performed at night will be less. Also second shift might work on different, on less or more workdays than the first shift. You got to model these conditions so depending on the date the work starts the activity duration will be adjusted based on the productivity of each shift and the number of days each shift worked on the activity. Manual adjustments can be very tedious and error prone, especially if many activities are working on multiple shifts while the use of two separate activities will yield wrong model.
An interesting use of shifts is for the modeling of seasonal work where different crews and equipment with different productivity vary depending on when activity work is performed, the crew changes as the activity is delayed or moved ahead of schedule and therefore the productivity and activity duration.
I use Spider Project which can model the above scenarios very easily, for P6 I am interested in finding it out. I do not know how the modeling of shift work will be transferred to P6, if transferred, as I have no license of it. Maybe new versions are more functional with this regard than previous versions.
