Dear all,
I make one base program and it was scheduled without resources and cost loading. Then I assigned one resource to all the activities and then export it to excel (export type: Resource assigment) and added budgeted units for all activities. Then same was imported to P6.7 and its showing, what I needed (i.e. budgeted labor units), but while scheduling there are changes in original duration.
Please clarify it as soon as possible.
Regards
Vijay
Hi
Before you Export the resource assignment try to add Duration type colum ,so this colum you will have in Excel sheet also ,after that you make in Excel sheet( Duration Type:Fixed Duration & Units).after you add your resouce and cost ,import the excel sheet to primavera again
you can also check the duration type from activity details duration type (choose fixed duration and unit )
after import befor scheduling see that it is in fixed duration . that is only answer

Hi Vijay,
Apply "Fixed Duration & Units" for the duration type and try. This may solve the issue.

The user can input a planned finish to overwrite the calculated planned finish. This change will also automatically change the original duration of the activity and there is no warning to the user.
If the activity is in progress, then planned start is set equal to actual start. Planned finish is calculated by adding the original duration to the planned start as shown in Figure 16 below. The user can input a planned finish to overwrite the calculated planned finish. Once again, this change will also automatically change the original duration of the activity and there is no warning to the user.
Original duration in plain English means a duration that shall be fixed once and thereafter never changed, it might not be as expected but this does not invalidate the date calculations by P6.
Suggest once the baseline is finished create a user defined filed and with global change assign the Baseline Original Durations to this field. Then in the future you will be able to compare values without the need to use the original baseline as a reference as it will always be available no matter what baselines you are comparing to.
