Logic and Saving issue in P6

Hi P6 experts,

I once again need your urgent help on the following, Please help me out.

a) For updating the progress of Building Projects which is best option

 Retain Logic  or  progress override

Some said that progress override is best for that but I think retain logic is Ok. Please suggest me which is the best?

b) How to link the activties too quickly in a lengthy programme. In 2000 actvities programme what is the best way to link the activities in a quickest way? Any tip or trick, please mention. pdf will be great if available.

c)  P6 saves the files automatically. Any tip or trick to stop it autosave during changes in progarmme?

d) In P6 version 6.2 , for creating horizontal tiles view of 2 programmes, I could not find Horizontal Tab Group in View option. How to view 2 progammes in  horizontal tiles view in that version. Please suggest.

Thanks

Jeremy,

there is no "Autosave" option in P6; Primavera software saves automatically the data entered by the user, as soon as the user strikes the Enter key or click another cell or field, full point

therefore, you have to be carefull when entering data and modifying your schedule, because you cannot refrain P6 saving the schedule

a way round is to make a copy of the schedule (display the Project view to do so) and work on the copy when you do not want to spoil the original schedule; P6V7 introduced a "mirror" schedule functionnality, that allows the planner to merge the "copy" and the "original" schedules and therefore introduce the changes made in the copy if they are satisfactory

I do not know a way to link activities "fast"; my opinion is that linking activities in a 2000 activity schedule, or 20000, or 120000 activities, requires much care and cannot be done in a snap time
