In P6 I enter dates for the activity and the actual durations are not showing correctly. For example, my activity starts on a friday and ends on a monday and P6 actual duration is 1 day. Please help.

Sounds like an issue with your work day. Make sure the hours per day are correct. In your settings, teel it 8 hours/day and in the individual days, make sure you show 8 work hours and no more.

It appears that I didn't understand the difference between the calculations in P6 and P3. Apparently I need to tell P6 the correct hour the work was started as to avoid the default time issue of P6 assuming that the work started before the work day even started.
