Dear Guys
can we use the bucket planning option in hours in p6.2.
i have all the setting for hours,but was not able to change the resource duration in hours....

Ya you can have the option.But make sure your time limit is fixed & you complete the work in time..

Check under user preferences -> time units. Make sure that the units format is set to hours and you have ticked 'show unit label'. Although it is often a good idea to turn off the unit label as it gives you more space in the spreadhseet view, if the default setting is shown in days you wont know if P6 is rounding the data (ie. 6d2h).
Also, using bucket planning to spread your hours is nice in the planning stage but is fails miserably when you come to progress the activity. Test it for yourself by creating a new schedule with a single activity, add a resource, spread some hours on it and take note of what happens to your future hours when the activity is progressed.
check your duration type. it must be either fixed duration and units or fixed duration and units per time.
