Hi Guys
is it possible to carry out detailed cost control/monitoring on a project using P6 software alone? simply we need to know the budgeted cost (as per our estimate/bid) Vs Actual cost spent at any instant of time.
Actually i tried it in the following manner but stuck at a point
1. Loaded the baseline program with budgeted resources same as per estimate/bid, unit rates, quantities
2. Then updated manually on daily basis the actual consumption of resouces (manpower,equipment,material) on site in P6.
3. But how to update the actual cost in P6? We have budgeted unit rates for the resources in the resource dictionary but where to feed actual unit rates for the same resource ? can we have two different unit rates for one resource ?
has any body done this on any project.
I would be very thankful if any expert can guide me through this or any alternate method for carrying out cost monitoring/control using P6.
