Projected Weekly Accomplishment base on Project Baseline

Greetings!

Guys,

My Supervisor asked me if P6 could project weekly percentage accomlishment based on the Project Baseline. If P6 can Provided the variance in the Baseline Start/Finish Dates & Actuals Start/Finish Dates , why not can we do it with the percent accomplishment per week; where we could compared the actual percentage vs. the projected baseline percentage.

For example; for week one, the projected baseline accomplishment is 25% but based on the actual start, the actual percentage completed is just 12.14% for the said week. From the example above we can project how much more effort we will be needing to add-up to next weeks or coming weeks to make ends meet.

I been using Primavera from version 3 to version 6 and it seems i am still new ti this software. Hoping i could get a positive answer on the matter or if there is a walk around in producing such a report, please feel free to post and share.

Daniel,

Just like to add more detail to my query,

What my supervisor wants to see is the percentage base on the target. It's like he wanted to see, base on the approved schedule (without any updates added), the projected weekly accomplishment percentage (per week) for the duration of the project (even if the project has not yet started), and this weekly percentage will then be used as a comparison to the actual weekly accomplishment (after the project has started).

Hoping i have given a more clear view of the report i wanted to generate.

Ruel,

Yeah as i mention earlier, P6 definitely has this features. First thing you need to to do after your programme has been approved and before you start to update is to assign a baseline, once you have assign a baseline and updated your programme, then obviously you want to know how is your perfromance against the baseline. To make this comparison look for the icon columns and click it, here you have several fields, you need to add the columns you need and the variance as well, there are far too many fields, you need to experiment and this will depend on what you are trying to measure (Cost, Labour, Time)

Best regards mate!

Hi Ruel,

MAy I know, what are you interested in? Physical Progress or Duration. I Copy baseline data to Excel and generate progress comparsion there.

Let us see what other members say about this.

Ruel,

Definitely, P6 has these features, the problem with P6 is that there are far too many % complete fields in their database and and they have completely change the terminology or language. you just need to experiment and find out which is applicable to your progamme. For example, you can not find Planned % Complete and Actual % Complete, they are now called "Scheduled % complete" and "Activity % complete" respectively.
