Define fields in P6.

Hi Guys,

Trust you are doing good. I am trying to define a field in P6 and make P6 calculate its value in the future like we can in excel.

I know how to define a user field and classify it as a number/start date/integer etc., but is it possible to put in a formula in P6 that will do calculations for that field?

Example: If my User field = Preparation for start date; I want this 'preparation for start date' to always be 2 days before the start date of an activity. Is there a way to store a formula in P6 that will do Start date - 2 days = preparation for start date and display it in the customized field?

Thanks a lot,

Akhilesh.

Akhilesh,

What you can do is export P6 to excel and do your calculations in excel and then import it back.

Cheers!

Hai Akhilesh,

It is not possible to put in a formula in P6 that will do calculations for any field in P6 standalone ver.

This can be done in P6 web-based application L4 license with main server at your end.

I am not sure whether Oracle has this application but it was before with Primavera.

Best of Luck.
