non labour to labot

Rodel;

Thanks, that is a powerful tool/instructions. I always assumed that SDK was accessed through Dictionary and Activity.xls. This goes right to the source.

Question, how do you know what is in each table? Is there a list somewhere, or do you just have to dig until you find it?

BTW: The steps are slightly different in Access 2010, but close enough to follow. Again, thanks.

Ferdinand,

SDK doesn’t mean excel. Excel is only another type of API via SDK. If SDK is installed to your machine, you can access it using MS Access or any database via ODBC.

Steps accessing Primavera SDK using MS Access.

1)     Open a blank MS Access.

2)     Click the Tables tab and right click then select link Tables.

3)     Under File types select ODBC Databases

4)     Select Machine Data Source Tab and select Primavera SDK (default name) then click Ok.

5)     Enter username & password the same as Primavera (i.e. admin) then click Ok.

6)     Select OAUSER.RSRC then click Ok.

7)     Scroll to the right until you find rsrc_short_name field then press Ctrl+F to find the resource id that wanted to modify.

8)     Scroll again until you find rsrc_type.

9)     Change rsrc_type then close.

10)     Go back to Primavera then press F5 to refresh. You will see the resource type will change.

Note: Only global table is available for update. Non global need to set the access code and scope code to access.

Caution: It is not advisable for those users that don’t understand Primavera Database Structure. Using this process will be on your own risk.

Another way of changing non-labor to labor without global change is to create another resource with the same Price/unit then change the non labor resource to new labor resource. When prompt to use labor price/unit click “No”. This will not change your budget and remaining units.

hi rodel

from which excel sheet can i find to change rsrc_type from RT_Equipment to RT_Labor of the original nonlabor resource?

i checked dictionary6x but it shows read only for resource RT_ types

i checked activity6x but i cannot find the rsrc_type column

or maybe im using the old activity6x (version 11/16/07)

Thanks Louie,

It works the other way too through a global change. I just followed the steps given in the link.

Hi Naveen,

I had a similar situation like yours but my problem was the other way around. In my case, I needed to change the resource type from labor to non-labor instead. Anyway, check this link and I hope you could find this helpful. By the way, I used the Global Change in my conversion. Good luck!!

Yes, Change the labor Price/Unit same as non-labour. Another way is if you have access to SDK you can change the rsrc_type from RT_Equipment to RT_Labor of the original nonlabor resource.
