migration from P6 server to P6 standalone

on a client-server system, the data of the whole company or site are stored in a SQL Server 2005 or Oracle database located on the server machine; on a stand-alone system, your own data are stored on your PC in a SQL Server Express or diminutive Oracle (I dont remember the exact name), depending of the exact P6 release
I guess the easiest way would be: a) install P6 stand-alone on your PC, b) export all your projects from the central database, c) import the XER file in your local database.
This way, you would not depend on the database administrator or the P6 administrator.
Anyway, I would first check with the P6 admin person.
