Hi Jojie
If you just want to load man day resources onto an ongoing project and not distort the tasks or durations then put the non-modelled man day numbers onto the summary bars.
Best regards
Mike Testro
Hi Jojie,
Try to set the duration type to "Fixed Duration and Units" before you resource-load the programme.

Hello guys!
Thank you for your reply!
The instructions were not to change the duration and cost what they want only is to load the manpower requirements for the project in man days. This project is approved and active in which im on my week 23 already. Originally this shedule was done on P3 and exported to P6 and were using P6 now on this project.
Guys, if you can expound it further on how to settle this matter?
Thank you.
regards,
jojie
Hi Jojie
If you have already cost loaded the activities it should not be difficult to convert the data to man days.
If the cost data is purely for labour then you can make a direct conversion by dividing the cost by a rate for a Man Day - this will give you the Manpower work load.
If youre cost data includes all cost heading then you have to extract the Labiur Hours using filters for each summary head - for instance in Plastering:
1. Remove OH&P by removing the % addition - Gross/(1+%)
2. Apply a reasonable percent that represents the labour content - say 35%
3. Divide the result by a reasonable labour rate for the trade - in UK £16.00 per hour.
4. You now have the resource hours for plastering.
Set up a single resource called "Days" with a reasonable gang size - this will be adjusted later - and apply the resource to all activities.
Filter out from your programme all plastering activities and allocate the resource hours pro rata to the respective durations.
Balance this with a suitable gang size and you will have resorce modelled the durations of the activities.
The durations may be a bit different but it will be related back to the cost.
Best regards

Hi Jojie,
In order to do that you need to have the Productivity Rate and calculate the No. of Manpower based on Quantity (BOQ) and the allocated Time (Duration).
