Although we do not have a single P6 license we understood the issue as a database connection issue as you clearly state. If you cannot connect to the database is like not having P6. We are very interested in this issue as we might be required to use P6 and start running with it as soon as the go ahead issue is released in case we are awarded the job.



What did primavera support told you?

Is primavera support under their purchase price?

If not, how much per license?



The only way we will get an answer to these questions is through those of you with a primavera support agreement. We tried to contact Primavera via e-mail for questions regarding P3 and SureTrak sales by Primavera. The e-mail was from their Primavera/Oracle Site; ’[email protected]’ . We never got an answer. We heard Oracle is to outsource coding to India, maybe support also, and believe me this is getting worse.

Sir Rafael,



It can be installed but it can not run real time as database has a "bad configuration" so to speak . Tried installing same software in xp professional and it run perfectly.



BTW, it is an standalone installation.

Have you tried Primavera Support?

What is wrong with them?

Does anyone who had the same problem contacted Primavera Support?



This is an issue we all must know, if there is a solution we all must know, especially those considering P6.



For a construction job we are bidding we might be required to use P6, if it cannot be installed under Vista Home Edition we would be at a great disadvantage as no only we would have to buy several P6 licences but to in addition to replace operating system. We use Windows XP at the main office but Windows Vista Home Edition on cheap laptops at the jobsite. In case we have to buy P6 we must have it installed also on the field laptops as we manage our jobs at the field, not by telemetry at the main office.



Please keep us informed in case you eventually solved the issue. I am wondering how good Primavera support is for those with just a few licenses.
