Hi Dieter,

I don’t think Yusuke is inexperienced, and I’m just trying hard to give practical comments (hoping that it make sense). I really consider the question as vital " remaining early and late units" (thanks Yusuke).

I believe the point is the actual number of resources that you are going to allocate considering the early and late data or figures (from your Plan) and the actual remaining works (is that right Yusuke?).

cheers!

Don’t try to throw unexperienced members, they have sufficient of uncertainity.

Yusuke

Early and late are expressions of cpm (Critical Path Method).

For you as a scheduler it might be helpful to learn the basics. Have a look here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_path_method

and

http://www.slideshare.net/dmdk12/the-network-diagram-and-critical-path

Forward - and backward path lead to different positions of tasks within the timescale - as will do the planned assignments of resources.

Good luck for planning!

Dieter

I believe it’s the same as remaining early works and remaining late works. Early and Late refers to time (with floats), while Units refers to resources and allocations (why not use average? i think it’s gross to fire workers on a monthly or weekly basis).
