Primavera Sells Up to Oracle ?

I hope oracle at least in the short term keeps the standalone version of Methodology Management and Project Management modules, in the worst case Primavera project will end like yet another module of E-Business Suite.

Color me pessimist, but I was perhaps too naive, hoping for P7 with support for mysql and a linux native client.

Anyway, the good news is, P3 must die now, sorry my friend but the evil people at primavera don’t even mentioned you in their press release, honestly I don’t blame them, how they explain to Mr Larry Ellison they still a support a 16 bit app, written with an obscure language.

Friendly yours

Two hours ago I received the press release from Primavera.

For my opinion it will be a step ahead. Regarding former purchases by Oracle - e.g. Hyperion - they integrate the purchased software into their application without suppression of its connectivity to other applications and the old "face".

The following is from the press release: "This morning Oracle Corporation announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Primavera. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close before the end of the year. Until the acquisition closes, Primavera continues to operate as an independent company.

After the acquisition closes, Primavera will become an independent Global Business Unit (GBU) within Oracle concentrating on project portfolio management. This means that Primavera’s management, leadership team, and employees will operate under much the same structure that we have today. ...."
