Total budgeted units in a specific time frame

Hi Yusuke,

I’ve run a test at my end & the report seems to perform the way I would expect.

Check your time period (I know this sounds silly, but are you a year out)

Also make sure that your report shows the cumulative figures as well as the time interval figures (this will give you the daily/weekly or monthly spread depending on how you have configured your report.

Also if you have assigned a resource to the activity(s)check the resource analysis tab within your user preferences options check that the Interval for time distrubuted resource calculations is in accordance with your reports time distrubuted data.

Hi Mark,

A correction in my previous post those hours in the parenthesis () are "cumulative budgeted units", but the "budgeted units" are all ZERO.

Aug 1 (1000 hrs), Aug 2 (1000 hrs), Aug 3 (1000 hrs), .... Aug 9 (1000 hrs).

Aug 1 (0 hr), Aug 2 (0 hr), ..... Aug 9 (0 hr)

The said activity is already in progress (not suspended, not completed, etc). I calculated that if the budgeted units is 1000 hrs for a 60 days duration (2 months), so roughly that will be 16.7 hrs per day. So I expect to see in the report something like...

Aug 1 (16.7 hr), Aug 2 (16.7 hr),.... Aug 9 (16.7 hr), right? But how come it is showing 0 hr?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I tried what you suggested but the budgeted units per day being shown in th report is the total budgeted units of the whole activity. How come?

It is like this:

Activity 1, Total Budgeted units = 1000 hrs, Start Date = Aug 1, Finish Date = Oct 1

Then what is shown in the report for the specific time frame (Aug 1 to Aug 9) is this.....

Aug 1 (1000 hrs), Aug 2 (1000 hrs), Aug 3 (1000 hrs), .... Aug 9 (1000 hrs).

That is wrong, right? Aug 1 budgeted units should not be 1000 hrs!!

Pls help. Thanks.

Hi Yusuke,

Try running a time distrubuted cumulative budgeted labour units report @ either the assignment or activity level (Depending on if you have assigned resources) I you use the wizard you can select the time period to run the report from & to

Hope this helps

Mark
