Hi.

Your specific report can be generate in P3.

I used to wish to bring that kind of report to P5 but unfortunately it’s impossible.

Some owner require those report format. They do not like new format in P5. My god.

I heard about Primavera Chart module have lots of graphic report. Does Anyone know about this?

Thanks

No need to answer as i found the solution on POINT.

Problem: How to print the Activity Usage Spreadsheet.

Problem: All print options are greyed out.

Problem: Page Setup, Print Preview, and Print are grayed out.

Problem: Unable to print the Activity Usage Spreadsheet view.

Cause: The Activity Usage Spreadsheet can only be printed when the Gantt Chart is displayed in the top pane of the layout.

Fix: The ability to print the activity usage spreadsheet in the top pane of the layout is an existing Enhancement Request.

To print the spreadsheet you must follow these instructions:

Fix: 1. Go to View, Show on Top, and choose Gantt Chart.

2. Go to View, Show on Bottom, and choose Activity Usage Spreadsheet.

3. Go to File, Page Setup, Options.

4. To print only the speadsheet, check "Spreadsheet" and un-check "Activity Table" and "Gantt Chart".

etc

I am able to view graph (bottom view) & spreadsheet (top) but unable to print! The print option is greyed out! Any explanations? If I change the top view to Gantt then I can print again either to gantt, graph or both.

If I understand your requirements then you can obtain an output from P3e/P5 by displaying the Activity Usage Profile (configured to disply your chosen data) on the bottom half of the display and select Activity Usage Spreadsheet for the top half. (configured to disply your chosen data and suitably summerised by grouping)

Using the Print Preview you can select both table and graph to be displayed for printing.

You do get what you get I’m afraid but it is very quick and you can save this as a named layout.

I don’t know a way to achieve your requirement with pure P5-functions. So we generate the data by P6-report into csv-format and then use EXCEL as well.

I understand how to get this information using the gui of the tool. What I am interested in is generating the same thing using the Reports Tool.

James

Currently we use excel, but really we want to try and cut out the "middle man" if you like, and do all reporting from within Primavera its self.

Anyone else able to help ?

Neil,

Not sure on P3e / P4+, but I suspect that the options are there.

In P3.1, we have found the graphical reporting tools very unsatisfactory and so run a text report to excel and use that for our presentation. To be fair to the programme, P3.1 was developed int he 80s and I’m sure that its reports looked well at home printed on tractor-fed dot matrix printers. These days "a little dated" doesn’t even cover it. Plus Excel is very good at handling such things. If you find it too much work (export, manipulate, fix the errors, blah blah) then ask your IT wizards to construct a macro / VBA script for you.

Hello Neil,

Even if I am not an expert, I might have an idea :

In Activities View, select the correct icon that show S-curve in the bottom layout. Then, right click of the mouse, you can select what you want (I do not remember the exact name of the parameters, as I do not have Primavera on my PC). You can choose total costs, or only labor. You can also select in labor units instead of costs, by dates or cumulative values.

Hope it helps you.

Kindest regards.

Patricia
