Afternoon Guys,
Just want to get your thoughts on whether you think a planner should be office or site based? I am use to a combination of the two depending on the project, but I ask as I have recieved two phone calls regarding possible openings and when I enquired regarding where is the position based in both instances the person said office and was supprised that I considered the role a combination of both site and office based working.
Your thoughts are welcomed.
The planner should be where the work is.
Depending on the scope & setup of the project, this may mean time in the office for controlling design & procurement activities. It certainly means time on site.
In my opinon it denpends, if the planner has a good experience with the project being done, and has a good progress collecting system, he can stay at the office for the most time, but if not, I think the planner should go to site for check if possible.
