I just arrived on a project where they are using P6 8.0.
As I only have 7.1 on my machine the planner exported a xer file in 7.1 so i could view the schedule.
When i do a resource report there are some discrepancies.
If i run RA-01 Resource Assignments report in certain cells the figures will be staggered. e.g the description will be in the planned units cell the planned units in the planned start cell etc.
Any ideas why this may be happening?

I actually figured out what was wrong after a while, it was a problem with the field delimiter setting in the report while running it. It was set up to see commas [,] as a space and therefore shifted or split the cell data based on the amount of Commas in the activity name.

Try opening the xer as a text file and then import to excel, that will allow you to review the data in a raw form. Do the same with a v7.1 file and see what is different.
