Does anyone know a way of changing a WBS in an exisitng p6 programme to another WBS without having to manually assign each task?
I have a consortium programme that is utilising the WBS function in P6 and I have been asked to export this and assign a different WBS at month end for cost forecasting purposes.
Therefore I need a remedy that isn't labour intensive.
My initial thoughts lead towards something clever in excel.
I am working on tailoring a work breakdown structure for the construction of a coal fired power plant for an EPC organisation. I am facing a challenge in defining a WBS that covers the bulk material from procurement through to construction.
Could you please advise on the most effective means of developing such a WBS.
Looking forward to your advice.

Mark,
You could leave the WBS untouched for scheduling purpose and quickly create a CBS; tag it to the required WBS/Activities and organise the schedule using the CBS for costing purposes. That would enable you to have the same information but presented differently to suit the audience.
Please advise how you get on.

In P6 - WBS, I supposed changes can be done by "copy and paste"
