Take care of Summary bar in the case of calculating the performance percentages!!
Based on cost sure , to compute the performance percentages which appear in the column name (performance percentages) in P6 , the summary bar only summaries the activities which have an assign cost.
For each activity:
primavera use this sequence of steps :
1) calculate the earned value:
earned value: (activity total budgeted cost* activity % complete)
Where:
Activity % complete: can be based on (duration, physical or unit), as you choose when you define the activity % completion type.
2) calculate the performance percentages :
performance percentages = earned value / activity total budgeted cost.
the performance percentages will give zero progress for the activities which not have assigned cost even if this activates have an Activity % complete percentage.
So take care from the result which coming out from the summary bar specially for the activities of engineering (shop Dwg submittals, Samples submittals), it must be assigned with cost in order to show a progress in the summary bar.
Try to assign the cost of those items from as per. BOQ Preliminary or Recurring cost.
