Schedule Risk Analysis Execution

Hi guys, as subjected above I just want to know deeply about schedule risk analysis.

  1. What is the best software to perform this kind of analysis? Possible by P6?? Pert master is the favourite right?
  2. Is it based on baseline schedule or working schedule??
  3. If you have a thousand activity how come you can perform this analysis by weekly? This including updating physical progress and forecast dates right

I look forward any clarification from you all guys and appreciate your helps in advance

Hello all,

Pertmaster is now Primavera Risk Analysis. Also the only one i've used so far, but there are others i am sure.

1. Pertmaster interfaces well with P6. It's the only risk analysis software I have used however, so cannot comment on if it's the best.

2. Either. You import an xer file into Pertmaster, so you can choose which to analyse. If working with NEC contract, for example, I would analyse the initial baseline to get my time risk allowance, and then the updated schedule on a regular basis to help understand and manage the risks.

3. You update the schedule in P6 as normal, and import each updated schedule into Pertmaster. As long as the relationship between risks and activities is the same (ie no new activities or risks, no changes to activity ID, etc), you only have to assign risks and duration uncertainties to activities the first time. Pertmaster remembers.
