Please note the following,
Hammock activity has nothing to do with the program of works or Time Management. Its main purpose is cost and resource loading.
Just filter them and save them in a separate layout.

A hammock activity is one that summarizes the duration of a set of activities. It is not the total duration of the set of activities but the duration between the start of the earliest and the end of the latest activity.
It is tool to monitor a set of activities eg. if you have 5 activities that have progressed differently on updating , the hammock can give you a realistic percentage completion figure.
In some cases, i have seen programmes with hammocks loaded with resources for ease of allocation and reporting.
The one issue that you will have to consider is that a hammock activity is not a real activity, its just an indicative activity. but in certain updated programme, the hammock might end up sitting on the critical path. It is important to ignore the hammock activities at that stage.
