hello all ,
i'm working on a big schedule it's about 20,000 activites and by updating it
i usually notice that for some linked activtes package the activity total float is increasing by decreasing the remaining duration for the activates .
i will explain it more as there is progress on site i update the progress percentage complete for the activity and also decrease the remaining duration ( physical type) and then the finish date for the linked activites shifted to be more than the current date instead to be less
noting that i don't use leds or level of efforts activites and neither SF relationship (only SS and FF or FS relationships)
and the activites don't have any ONGOING OR NOT STARTED predessesor only the relationships between them selves
thanks in advance
1. 1st update the activites that have started with actul start dates but not finished and put in the remaining duration for each of those
2. If activites here started before and have now finished put in the actual start date.
3. If an activity has started AND finished put in the actual start AND actual finsh date
4. Press F9
5. Chnaae the dated date to reflect the date that you are recording progress thru
6. Analyse results
i,m updating it
i changed the data date also
i will explain more i updated the activites and reduce the remaining duration then changed the data date from 31-01-2021 to became 15-02-2021
thats mean 15 days working day which give me increase at the total flot by -18 days and if i decresed the remaning duration for certain activites the total flot increase also to become -20

20,000 activities schedule is for an experienced scheduler.
Are you updating the schedule or you mean revising current schedule version?
are you changing the data date also ?
