WARNING: So it DOES NOTE WORK to export and import LAYOUTS with User Text and Defined columns. I am doing it with computer right next to each other. Everything is there except those. They can be added and the data is there. Whats with that? Anything else related to this I should know? The versions are basically the same. I might use those columns more than most - during my draft process because setting up and changing "codes" are more of a hassle until you know the data better.

in my own experience, exporting a layout with udf's and activity codes will only work if each and every udf contains data; "will only work if ...", but it woks well
