Hi guys
i received comment from client they mentioned that "critical path on the schedule has zero progress".
is there any rule for schedule that critical path must have progress?
Regards,
Presumably fabrication of tank#5 cannot start until fabrication of tank#4 is completed?
If so, fabrication of Tank#4 should be on your critical path, with progress to date shown
yes project is in progress now.and they want me to prepare revised baseline.
the main items are steel reservoir tanks (5 pieces). design works are completed.and fabrication works are on going.(tank#1,#2,#3 are completed.#4 is on going and #5 is not started yet.)
construction works are on going.(tank #1,#2,#3 r completed.#4 and #5 not started yet.)
so the critical path is all about tank #5 works.is it wrong?
so what you are telling is that out of ALL the activities that are in your schedule that you did not work on ANY that WERE on the critical path ?
The Critical Path only show activities that are either in progress or are in the future which means that they will NOT show progress. The only activities that would be on the critical path are ones that may have started but have not yet finished.
Understand that the forward pass (early dates) begins from the data date and goes forward in time.
But if what you are saying for example that during the previous reporting period that the submittal of the steel shop drawings were on the critical path and you have not done ANYTHING (and it is still on the critical path) to move this along or progress it then I have to agree with Gary the owner can ask you why you are not progressing the scheduled work in a timely manner ?
Nope.
But if the project is in progress, it would be reasonable for the client to ask why you are not progressing with the critical activities.
