Dear All,
I am facing problems updating the schedule through import command "Update Existing Project". Whenever i update my schedule, it duplicates resources by adding it in the resources thus doubling the budgeted total cost.
Kindly suggest.

to prevent double duplication of resources go to the projects directory
make sure that your project is highlighted
then click on the resources tab
on the lower right hand side make sure that under the resource assignments that
the box is NOT checked which says Resources can be assigned to the same activity more than once
also during the importing of the xer file you can modify what and how you import certain elements of the xer file
when you get to the 6th screen that reads Update Project Options select modify
under the Data Type Activity
in the Activity Resource Assignments select update existing

This is happening because your import file might have a resource with the same resource name but different resource ID.
If you are importing from excel to primavera, just check and verify your excel file for resource IDs against activity IDs. You can verify by using filter in excel for resource IDs.
