Budgeted Cost Calculation

Hi,

I am stuck with an issue related to the budgeted cost calculation, where the normal procedure is (Budgeted Units x Price/Unit= Budgeted Cost).

My setting for unit of time is hour and the price/unit is 1. The problem is in the calculation process of BC, which always consider a value of 0.125  to multiply with the BU in order to get the BC.

For eg: BU=100 and price/unit=1, but the BC is calculated as 100x0.125 =12.5

If the setting for unit of time is changed to day, the calulation will be 100x1 =100, which I think is wrong.

All other resources are working perfectly except one (with above issue).

Am I missing any setting for this resource?

Thanks and Regards

Kannan

I assume that your planning unit is days

go to edit users preference

click on the Time Units tab

look under Units format the unit of time should be hours

look under duration format unit of time should be day

go to the resource directory

click on the details tab

on the right the Defaut Units/ Time this should be 8.00/d

Hi Zoltan,

Thanks for the reply.

How to change the units of the resource from days to hours?

your resource calendar must be in days and

that is because your default units/time f0r that resource is set to 8 so 1/8= 0.125

this says your are working 8 hours in 1 hours so the unit per hour is 0.125

if you are using hours then

so 100x0.125=12.5

if you are using days then

the default units/time is 8 and 8 hours per day so 8/8=1

and 100 units x 1 = 100 which is correct
