I need some assistance with a filter that will show task that should have started by the status date but still show now actual start or % progress

Hi Wayne,

It's not clear what assistance you might need.  MSP has two built-in filters that would seem to fit the bill:

1. "Should Start By..."  This filter shows all tasks with no Actual Start (AS="NA") and whose scheduled start is less than a date you are prompted for.  (Remember AS is the limiting factor here.  You can have an AS with 0% Complete, but you can't have >0% Complete with no AS.)  You could easily copy and modify this filter specification to use the Status Date.

2.  "Late Tasks"  This filter shows all tasks with Status = "Late".  According to support.office.com,

  • If the timephased cumulative percent complete does not reach midnight on the day before the status date, then the Status field contains Late.

So this is a bit more expansive, actually looking at the %Complete value and judging if adequate progress is being made.

Personally I don't use either of these on a regular basis, so I can't vouch for their overall usefulness.
