Retreiving a baseline, export it to P6

i am a P6 user using MS projects and need help to export a baseline. i hope some planner out there will help as i rarely use the software.

I have been given a MS project file which has under it a baseline project and labled planned programme.

i have exported the project as and XLM to Primavera P6 quite successfully using Asta Powerproject as the interface.

This does not bring across the baseline project. is there away to save the baseline programme of this project as a standalone project which i could then export as i have done for the current project ?

Paul ,

Thank you for explaining that problem. I will have to get the baseline from the client server as I need the logic.

very kind Regards

The big issue with the MSP Baseline is that is not realy a baseline and MSP just saves dates, durations and resource assignments. It does not save relationships, constraints, calendars, critical path or float.

So to save the Baseline as a new project you need to crate a new project with the right calendars, then copy and pasting the Baseline activities into a new project, but paste the task name to Task Name, theBaseline Start and Baseline Finish into Start and Finish, you will also need to paste the Ouutline Level field as this will create the Summary Task. The position of the column fields is importqant and I find you have to paste twice.

The tasks will be assigned an early constraint when pasted.
