Looking for some help:
I am trying to ‘straighten the progress line’ in Microsoft Project.
I am looking to establish the projected end date of activities and projected end date of the project following the input of progress.
I have tried to use the following function but with no result:
Tools > Options > Calculation
- Updating task status updated resource status
- Move end of completed parts status date back to status date
- And remove start of remaining parts back to status date
- Move start of remaining parts before status date forward to status date
- And move end of completed parts forward to status dates
Please Help.

I hope I did not misunderstand your question.
Pls make sure the option "Split in-progress tasks" is checked (note that, Project does not split/move fixed-duration type tasks). If you have all the "Move end/And move" options checked (as mentioned in your post), Project aligns the progress with the status date as soon as you input some progress on the tasks.
