MSP2007 Printing Extra Page

Hi,

I did post with this problem some time ago, but didn't have any success with the suggestions. Although the need for the previous project went away, I am having the same problem with another project.

In the page setup I select "Fit to: 1 page wide by 1 page tall" but the plan prints 1 page wide by 2 pages tall.  In Page setup I have set up the "Fit to:  1 page wide by 1 page tall" it still prints 2 pages with the last task on the 2nd page.  No matter how many pages tall, it always prints an extra page with the final task on it.

Have tried setting the timescale to print to end of page on and off, and have also checked there are no page breaks lurking.

Would be grateful if anyone has had this problem and has reolved it successfully.

Many thanks.

Hi Tony,

I would not have thought at this reason; it is quite mandatory to keep the Task ID in the 1st column of the left, and to freeze this column; otherwise the layout is messy.

Quite bizzarely, I have discovered that the problem may also be caused by not having the ID field as the first column in the table. I tried copying the task data to a new file, and kept saving after each change I made. It was only when I amended the table to take out the ID column that the printed output put the final task on a new page. When I went back into the table, added the ID column back in and set the width to zero, it went back to one page!!!

Tony,

I'm afraid you won't! Unfortunatley, this a persistent bug since MSP 2003, and MS is not onthe way to correct it, the situation is even worse with MSP 2010

the only possible workaround is to update the software with the latest service pack ("et encore ..." as we say in French)

Hi Alexandre,

This happens in specific projects. Unfortunately if I try and scale manually, it does not "fit" the output to the page but only prints on half or 2/3 of a the page.

Fingers crossed I will find a way around this.

Many thanks.

Tony,

usually, MSP 2007 prints 1 page tall x 2 pages wide! I am suprised that you have the contrary.

that's a long time bug, the "Fit timescale to page" available in the "View" tab of the Page Setup dialog does not work well

do you have this behavior in all your projects, on in one specific project?

the only way to "solve" the problem, if it is possible to say "solve" is to print 90% or less of actual size; but I consider this trick as wasting my time
