In MSP 2003 how do I show a column for 'baseline % complete' in order to compare with '% complete' entered for the progress update ?

many thanks!

As per Arun said,

Only that to compare it directly just introduce a "text" column in the first file (tracking programme) name the text column to "Plan %" then just copy the Plan % Baseline in your second file that was generated to the first file in the "text" column introduced.

No simple way for MS Project.

Dear Phil,

Firstly you have to create your schedule save two copies of baseline schedule.\

1. one copy of your schedule would be the one in which you will track your project.

2. second one will be used for the "planned % complete" or "Baseline % complete" as on date against which you will compare your actual tracked " % complete."

Then in the 2nd copy(other than tracking one) open Tools >Tracking>Update Project. Then update project dialog box will open, In that particular dialog box select "update work as complete through" and then select the date as on which you want to check the planned % complete. Then click ok.

Add a new column % complete in the same baseline schedule. This % complete column you can either name it as "planned % complete" or " Baseline % complete."

And using this u can actually compare actual tracked schedule. Also there is no other way round to see the planned % complete in same tracking schedule.

In case you find it difficulty in this....Drop me a mail on [email protected]
