I ahd in mind that it was possible for MSP to display the progress line ahead of schedule; my mistake, I made the confusion with Sciforma Project Scheduler.

As per the discussion on the following page, MS Project is RIGHT when not displaying the progress line ahead of schedule; there is the way of setting up the options if you want to display the p-line:
