In September 1994 I completed research into Delay Analysis Methods (The Simulation of Construction Project Delays, available on loan from the CIOB library, www.ciob.org.uk). That research illustrated many of the methods and techniques used in schedule analysis and developed the technique now known as ‘Time Impact Analysis’.
As a result of that a paper was published in C M & E:
A Methodology for Assessing Construction Project Delays. Bordoli D. W. & Baldwin A. N. Construction Management and Economics, Volume 16, Issue 3, 1 May 1998, pp. 327-337(11). E & FN Spon. ISNB 0144-6193.

I think you can get a copy of that from http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/spon/rcme/1998/00000016/00000003.
The Planning Engineer’s Organisation also has a few papers about delay analysis; http://www.planningengineers.org/publications/papers.aspx
There is also a widely read book in the UK but I can’t remember the name of the book or the author ;-)
