The PMI-SP exam needs a good understanding of the PMBOK Guide, PMI Practice Standard for Scheduling and at least one good text on project scheduling and controls (PMI list several options, there are others) - study time depends on your understanding of schedule theory (this has very little to do with operating scheduling software), most people seem to need around 80 hours plus of directed study.
The exam is not based on 'chapters' in either the PMBOK or the Practice standard - the exam specification is based on the role of a senior project controls professional, for more details see: http://www.planning-controls.com.au/pmisp-courses/
