SALES vs INVOICE

Can any one tell me the diffrence between Sales & Invoice

my knowledge cumulative of invoice is sales .Can any one differentiate more

A sale is when you secure a contractual agreement to supply goods or services to another party.

An invoice is when you request payment for those goods or services.
