Hi Ian,
I tend to look at the job sites, pick about ten that are appropriate and list the common accountabilities to use as the core for the profile.
You then need to personalise the description with a few additional tasks / responsibilities so it fits in with how you see your role in the project / programme. What you should end up with is a few generic planning descriptions such as...
Responsible for generating, monitoring and maintaining multi-level project schedules throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring a cohesive interface with company project management methodology and processes.
Responsible for critical path analysis, assessing impact and recommending corrective solutions that will enable project objectives to be met as specified in the requirements.
Provide support and technical expertise to specialist, project and programme teams in best practice on planning and scheduling, including tools
And a couple that are tailored...
Contribute to tender and bid proposals with responsibility for preparing and collating substantiated cost estimates, ensuring a properly considered bid can be put forward for proposal.
Essentially all you need is a bit of a cut and paste exercise, arrange it into a format that suits and there you have your job descriptions.
