Hi Moosa,
Depends on what kind of experience you have and how many years and where u stand in ur own career.
If u think u want to stick to planning, then PSP will definitely boost u up. But, if u think in near future ur experince will be worth to become a project manager, then go for PMP. Not only in terms of annual promotion, but also in terms of ur professinal growth, PMP will defintely boost you a lot.
Work experience and ability to think logically is a must in either of the cases (Going for PMP or not) and higher education will help you to make your pocket deeper.
Cheers,
Raviraj, PMP
Work experiance and ability to think logically and to corealted the activities in proper sequence is more important to be a good planning engineer.
That I agreed. But one will change job from Planning Engineer to senior Planning Engineer or Planning Manager after some time. For this change if he has some certification like PMP or PSP, then it is good.
My query is in this regard. PSP or PMP which one is more important?
Thanks & Regards
Dear Moosa,
Instead of any certification, your work experiance and ability to think logically and to corealted the activities in proper sequence is more important to be a good planning engineer.
but certification also add little over what ever you know about u r core work area(roads, buildings, heavy engg etc), becoz after all if u dont have knowledege of u r core area, u ll just work as data entry person instead of real planning negineer.
but certification with proper blend of experiance and knowledge will help you a lot.
Cheers,
Abhi
