Senior Planning Engineer I am the senior planner on a £114 million upgrade to improve the River Ribble estuary and the coastal environment flood defence project on behalf of United Utilities. This involves building a 3.5 km long storm water storage tunnel in the Preston and Penwortham areas. This will bring significant environmental improvements to the Fylde coast bathing waters and designated shellfish beds located within the Ribble Estuary.

·         Develop, maintain, monitor and update a multiproject program including Substation and Over head line (OHL) projects

·         Create rolled-up programmes and reports due to the nature of the job (up to 25 projects)

Line management responsibility for twelve staff, locations splits between Glasgow (two sites) and Bristol

Manage and maintain T45 programme suite of plans, level 0 to level 2 shipbuild, plus cost control account programming

Key MOD point of contact for all planning queries and activities

Facilitate integration of level 3 to level 2 plans

Selecting new planners to business at interview

What-if analysis and risk mitigation options of all plans level 2 and up

Redesign of WBS, PBS, OBS, and RBS to simplify and set as group standard

Preparing schedules for new projects, assisting with contractor scrutiny during tender submissions, reviewing schedules for extension of time claims, providing support to PM's on scheduling matters.

Preparing monthly reports for Steering committee.

Being everyone's Bitch - I also help out with construction management and supervision.
