University Link Extension Project, Seattle, WA – Michael served as a member of the JV Team project control staff acting as on-site scheduler for the $38 million design phase of the University Link Light Rail tunnel and stations project. The $1.9 billion project includes 3.15 miles of twin-bore tunnel and two major underground transit stations for a transit extension from downtown Seattle to the University of Washington.

Michael provided cost engineering and design administrative support for engineering including the following projects:

Records Specialist/Admin Assistant - Bechtel Corp, Telecommunications Division, Kirkland, WA - 2003 – 2004

Provided accountability for all assets, acquisition through disposal, in accordance with contractual requirements, government directives and (GAAP) generally accepted accounting principles. Maintained and updated asset records, monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Conducted variance analysis, prepared inventory status reports and developed property records for newly acquired assets.  Coordinated field audit teams. SQL to manage large amounts of data within relational database tracking company assets.

Provided program/project leadership to cross-functional team of environmental, safety/health, engineering/design, scheduling, estimating, planning, project control, finance and project management personnel spanning multiple work site contractors. Developed scope, WBS, schedule, budget and resource estimates for assigned tasks. Compiled input for schedule status, project control reports, and earned value curves providing output to the project team. Participated in prime contracting to include cost plus, T&M, FFP as well as sub-contract claims negotiation.

Analyze, monitor, and report on project cost and schedule information to assist project teams in managing projects by making more informed and timely decisions. Forecast costs for all project phases. Evaluate project invoices, documenting costs and analyzing impact relative to anticipated costs. Analyze, monitor, and report key pre-construction, and construction activities, including critical approval dates. Review contractor construction schedules for compliance and document variance in a written report.
