Deployed in the Alstom Power HQ in Baden Switzerland as a Primavera Consultant, assignment was to deploy Primavera Portfolio Management applications worldwide in both Design and production facilities with the objective of producing a single schedule for Power Station EPC contracts. This involved liaison with the Design and Production facilities on a worldwide basis and involved assessing current schedules and deploying process improvements to the planning community.
Energy I was commissioned to re-organise the planning processes and merge two divisions into one so that they used standard process. There are over 80 planning staff located at 8 nuclear power stations, one coal fired station and three supporting business units throughout the UK.
The first task was to examine the existing processes and procedures, in addition a health check was carried out on the Primavera infrastructure, including a thorough assessment of data integrity and schedule integrity.
The assignment for Alstom Power involved deployment of Primavera throughout the Engineering and Manufacturing facilities worldwide. Working at their HQ in Baden Switzerland the initial task involved producing a specification for database configuration to be utilized as a global standard. This was achieved by facilitating workshops with the stakeholders in USA, Germany, Indonesia, India, China, Portugal and Czech Republic.
The next stage was to standardize processes throughout including resource management, schedule integration and machine shop capacity planning.
