PLANNING ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Performs staff function to the Project Director and Project Managers regarding project schedule, monitoring and planning.

2.     Monitoring site for technical and progress reports/status.

3.     Maintains and updates project schedules.

4.     Preparation of comprehensive weekly and monthly progress reports

1.     Preparation of Construction Schedule/Programme of works using Primavera software.

2.     Evaluates and Monitors reports from sub-contractor’s programme.

3.     Monitoring site for technical and progress reports/status such as S-Curves, Cash Flow, Histograms, Productivity Reports, Manpower and Equipment et al.

Schedule Setup

Setup Schedule based on Contract WBS in line with company planning policies and guidelines.

Usage of Manpower / KPIs to determine durations of activities and to plan for construction sequencing.

Setup of physical progress measurement using key measurables (Steel Tonnage / Pipe Spools / Cable Length / Termination points etc)

Schedule Analysis and Control / Problem Solving

Conduct weekly analysis of schedule (Float, Critical Path, Manpower, Resource)

·          Prepared level IV detail schedules area by area

·          Prepared invoices for direct and extra works.

·          Prepared daily & weekly site progress reports.

Worked at KAUST Perimeter Fence Project and Saudi Arabia National Guard Housing Project: Scope of work consist of preparation of detailed schedule in each structure and work discipline and update in a weekly and monthly basis. Prepares Weekly Progress Report as directed by the Client. Conduct regular site visit, pictorials and videos to know the actual activities and accomplishment at site. Coordinate with the Construction and Project Managers with the current status of the on-going project. Prepare monthly progress billing based on the actual accomplishments and approved RFIs.

Worked at New King Abdulaziz International Airport Phase 1 Project: Scopes of work consists of review the contractor’s program and providesadvice on completion and completion percentages.Review the 3 weeks look ahead program. Direct support to the Resident Engineer and report to the Senior Project Planner. Responsible in all aspects of the planning and programing of the works. Review, monitor and authorized the contractor’s program. Attending onsite meeting as requested by the Client. Prepare the progress report required by the Client.

Planning Engineer – (Khalifa Port Project) January 11, 2008 to July 2010 Job Description as Planning Engineer: • Planning and scheduling through Primavera software (P3, P5 or P6) including loading of resources and cost. Prepares and analyze critical path activities, preparation of work breakdown structure and organization breakdown structure. • Prepare daily progress report and weekly progress report. • Weekly updates of project schedule. Prepares delay analysis and make proposal to recover the delays. • Prepares progress S-Curves, monitors actual VS early and late plan curve.

Turnaround Planning, Scheduling, Baselining, Progress Updates, and Reporting, Daily reporting to the client, attend the related meetings, give suggestions, explain queries, site visit for ensuring the safety and quality of the activities.
