Marine Engineer

Basic Training as Marine Engineering Mechanic on Surface ships, Floating Docks, Dockyard Maintenance Teams and Nuclear Submarines.

Qualified on all types of machinery from Air Compressors, Diesel Generators, Hydraulic Systems, Sea Water Services and Oil Systems. Many more too numerous to list.

Finally qualified as Unit Watchkeeper onboard HMS Revenge taking charge of 2 Main Steam Turbines and Auxiliiary Equipment.

Qualifications to ONC level.

Position: 4th Engineering Officer
Company: Stephenson Clarke Shipping Ltd., Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
Full charge of constant 8 hours/day sea watch on an Oil Tanker, looking after main engine, auxiliaries, boiler, all associated pipework systems, taking bunkers, as well as supervising a Junior Engineer and crew of the same watch.

Position: 5th Engineering Officer
Company: Ellerman City Lines Shipping Ltd., London, England.
Assisting 2nd Engineer on 8 hours/day sea watch, looking after main engine, auxiliaries, boilers and all associated pipe work systems and equipment.
