Contracted to conduct an internal investigation to determine: the future type of management tool for building & maintaining performance of regional railway infrastructures.
Duties: to advice about suitable planning software
to advice about new data flow versus existing organization;

At McNicholas my function as a planner was to be involved with the project from pre –tender stage right through to six monthly / two yearly defect hand over stage.
The biggest and highest valued project was a telecommunications link for a company called Tycom Networks, the project was valued at £300,000,000.00 as it had submarine cables linking it to America, Canada and Norway and my duties included:
•Plan a feasible route from Filey North Yorkshire, down to Cambridgeshire & across to Leeds.
•Walk the routes in their entirety to position splice chambers & pulling boxes.
Experience gained on Highways works which included assisting in supervision of site works, collating utility drawings (electric, gas, water & telecoms) for work packs (cable tv works), assign of work packs to gangs, surveying new works for tender & updating of progress made.
Duties included:
•Checking utility drawings to ensure information was correct.
•Going on site before digging work commenced to mark where clients ducting and chambers should be.
•Locate and mark any other utility in the vicinity using a RD400
