Gautrain Rapid Rail Project - Programme Risk Advisor

The Gautrain Rapid Rail Link is a rapid rail network being constructed in Gauteng Province, South Africa.  The rail connection comprises of 10 stations (4 underground) with 15.5km of the route within tunnel with the remaining 65km at grade or on viaduct structures.

·  Management of South Africa based LBA consultant.

·  Evaluation of Contractor’s Monthly Reports and Programme updates.

• During the period, handled the following major responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Payroll and Financial Accounting data on the computer, using FoxPro.
  • Progress reporting and updating billing details to the client regularly.
  • Maintaining Project progress updates using Harvard Project Manager (HPM).
  • Plotting of cross-sections for Concrete as well as Asphalt paving.
  • Handled the maintenance, updation and administration of the database related to HRM department in Visual FoxPro for generation of MIS reports.

Worked as Scheduler for PTP Malaysia Rail Project. Main responsibilities included:

• • Preparation of work programme in MS Project and Primavera, and scheduling monthly activities.
  • Progress reporting and updating billing details to Client on a regular basis.
  • Creating and modifying small drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Maintenance of Computers including Local Area Network for 25 computers.
• Worked as Member of Estimate preparation team for future projects in Malaysia.

• Actively contributed as Member of Core Team, which implemented Primavera-based Project Management Information System (PMIS).
• As part of the assignment, handled:
  • Training to 74 Engineers on Primavera
  • Creation of Work Breakdown Structures, resources and project activities after discussion with engineers.
  • Project scheduling and reports generation in Primavera.
  • Providing necessary IT support in terms of Software and Hardware.
  • Creating and editing drawings using AutoCAD.
